In this presentation we will discuss the 4 pillars of Section 2.8 (Emergency Planning) of the Manitoba Fire Code, namely: the fire safety plan, staff training, posted emergency procedures, and fire drills. We will explain what is required and why they are important from the perspective of the building owner, the occupants, and finally from a city fire inspector.
After the presentation, participants should feel comfortable conducting a cursory review of their own emergency planning documents to determine if they are in compliance with the fire code (and have thus reduced their liability).
