BOMA BEST®
Setting the Standard in Energy and Environmental Performance
BOMA BEST® (Building Environmental
Standards) is a national program
launched in 2005 by BOMA Canada
to address an industry need for
realistic standards for energy and environmental performance of existing buildings
based on accurate, independently verified information. The program is based on the
internationally recognized and accepted Green Globes™ environmental assessment platform.
BOMA BEST® is the only assessment and certification program of its kind for commercial
buildings in Canada. It is a unique, voluntary, national program designed to assess
environmental performance and management of existing buildings, and is offered by the
Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA Canada) as a service to all
commercial building owners and managers across Canada.
Since its launch, BOMA BEST® has seen tremendous uptake, with over 5,000 buildings
representing nearly one billion square feet of Canadian commercial real estate, having
applied for certification or recertification to date. The growing trend toward building
assessment and certification through BOMA BEST® speaks to the value this Program has
provided, and continues to provide, the Canadian commercial real estate industry.
In Manitoba, nearly 60 buildings have applied for BOMA BEST®, and our own BOMA BEST®
Profiles feature local case studies and certification success stories. To view the profiles,

BOMA Commercial Building Directory
An Indispensable Reference for Professionals in the Commercial Real Estate Sector

The BOMA Manitoba Commercial Building Directory has become a vital source of
information for our members and the building industry. The publication serves to
increase the visibility and profile of commercial real estate in Manitoba, with 1,200 copies
