What’s happening now

(AND WHAT’S NEXT!)

The latest iteration of BOMA’s strategic plan – our ‘3-Year Strategic Priorities:
2018 to 2020’ document – is a pared down 2-page plan (an accomplishment to
itself!), which lays out where we’re headed.

In addition to building upon an active recruitment strategy for our Operators
& Engineers and our Young Professionals groups, the BOMA office and our
committees will be delivering on several new initiatives in the coming year,
including (but not limited to):

• Undertaking a comprehensive by-law review, to not only ensure that
we remain on side of The Corporations Act, but also with the current best
governance practices for industry associations
• Introducing new categories for our annual Awards of Excellence program
• Developing a local industry ‘dashboard’ Exploring Career
• Increasing awareness of career opportunities in commercial real estate,
and brining more post-secondary graduates and young professionals into Opportunities?

These newest initiatives are just the latest examples of BOMA’s commitment to www.bomamanitoba.ca/
the industry and our local membership. And they’re proof, of course, that our employment
board is not only serious about good governance, but also about continuously
expanding BOMA’s value proposition in the years to come.

And of course, we’ll continue to deliver value to our members via regular
networking events (including 10 luncheons per year, which are included in your
membership), monthly educational offerings, and a number of publications (like
this one, our e-News, and BOMA INSIDER Magazine) and certifications.

I’m hopeful that our members will continue to see BOMA as a ‘must have’
professional membership, as a go-to resource, and as the voice of commercial
real estate in our province.
