I am pleased to present the 2021 Commercial Building Directory to BOMA members
and commercial real estate professionals in our province.

2020 has, of course, been an extremely challenging year for everyone. COVID-19 has
disrupted lives and livelihoods, has overloaded our healthcare system and continues to
exhaust our medical professionals and frontline workers. And it has forced virtually all of us to
re-examine our businesses, adapting and then re-adapting to the ever-changing ‘new normal’.

The ongoing pandemic means that many of us will continue to work remotely for the next
while (rife with the accompanying challenges of endless Zoom conferences and Microsoft
Teams calls). That prospect can certainly be daunting.

However, as you read through the surveys provided by our brokers, you’ll see that there
are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about commercial real estate: significant growth in
multi-family projects; the continued strength of the industrial market; and even an occasional
bright spot in retail and office.

And so, we hope you’ll find value – and some optimism – in the insights they’ve provided
here, BOMA will continue to work hard at being your go-to resource in the commercial
buildings industry. In addition to publications like this Commercial Building Directory and
our bi-annual BOMA INSIDER Magazine, the slate of BOMA resources available includes our
BOMA Canada Guide to Pandemic Planning, Pathway Back to Work Guide, BOMA Industry
Salary Survey (coming soon!) and BOMA Measurement Standards, to name a few.
