EDUCATION SESSIONS
& LUNCHEON
The Expo education sessions
covered a wide variety of industry
topics that included: retrofitting
to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions, understanding the
P3 landscape, eliminating waste
in design and construction,
understanding the challenges of
marijuana in construction, HVAC
fundamentals, time management
tips and a case study of the new
Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
The opening breakfast, which
doubled as BOMA’s Building
Operators and Engineers Group
(BOEG) monthly breakfast,
surpassed last year’s attendance
and featured a panel of industry
experts discussing the newest
sustainable features in today’s
high performance buildings.
The breakfast was moderated
by Colleen Kuruluk of Manitoba
Hydro’s Power Smart Programs. Commercial Building AV Systems
Expo was also proud to feature
Jim Ludlow of True North
Development and Glen Scott from
The Katz Group in Edmonton
as keynote luncheon panelists.
The two executives treated
Expo’s 400 luncheon attendees
to a conversation about the
transformative downtown
development projects underway
in Edmonton and Winnipeg. The
discussion was moderated by Don
White of Colliers International, and Winnipeg Owned and Operated
touched on both Edmonton’s ICE
District and of course Winnipeg’s Audiovisual Services:
soon-to-be True North Square.
