WHAT ROLES HAVE YOU BEEN
INVOLVED WITH IN BOMA?
I have provided technical speaking
engagements and now promote up and
coming staff to offer technical talks for
BOMA.
I have also been a long time judge
for the BOMA Awards of Excellence
program, and I regularly attend the
luncheons.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE
BENEFITS YOU SEE IN BECOMING
A MEMBER?
1. Networking
2. Learn about Industry trends
3. Learn about new development
plans for Winnipeg & Manitoba
4. Maintain client relations
5. Promotion of our company
6. Pretty good lunches
7. Technical training and certification
DO YOU THINK BECOMING A
MEMBER HAS HELPED YOU IN
YOUR CAREER AND HOW?
Membership has provided
encouragement to maintain a high level
of professionalism and confidence in
business development. It is easy to talk
to people at BOMA. I got to work with
other very qualified and professional
people that have influenced how my
career has taken shape.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE
NEW MEMBERS WHO AREN’T AS
ACTIVE?
It is easy to get involved in a number
of different ways that you will be
comfortable with. Being an active BOMA
member will elevate your reputation both
individually and corporately.
I have always told my staff that “If
you are going to be a member of an
organization then ensure you participate
and contribute otherwise you will not see
the returns on your investment.” This has
held true for BOMA. ■
