A NEW LOOK FOR
330 St. Mary Avenue
By: Katie Kadyniuk
enovations wrapped up this fall after
a 17-month project on a prominent
downtown office tower, and the BOMA office
is a little brighter because of it.
BOMA – whose office is located on the eighth
floor of 330 St. Mary Avenue – is just one of the
tenants who’s benefited from the building’s new
custom-designed, full curtain wall replacement.
The massive 17-month long project, undertaken
by the building’s property manager Colliers
International, has resulted in new glazing from
the base of the building to the penthouse, which
has significantly added more daylight to all
tenant spaces, BOMA’s included.
330 St. Mary Avenue was constructed in
1980, and until last year the 12-storey building
maintained its original curtain wall. The building
was purchased by I.G. Investment Management
Ltd.in 2012, and the new owner initiated
a review of its building capital plan shortly
thereafter.
Rudy Braun, Property Manager for Colliers
International notes the proposed changes were

approached 35 years and counting, ownership
embraced the project to extend the useful life
of the building and maintain a timeless and
modern look while ensuring building efficiency”
says Braun.
The curtain wall replacement project began in
earnest in April 2013 with a feasibility study
and an engineering review by prime consultant
Crosier Kilgour & Partners Ltd. Cibinel
Architecture and Akman Construction were then
brought onto the project team, and by spring
2016, crews from Border Glass & Aluminum
