2026 Awards of Excellence Recap
BOMA Manitoba recognized several member firms and individuals at its annual Awards of Excellence Luncheon, held June 17, 2026. The luncheon took place at the Metropolitan Entertainment Theatre Centre and was emceed by local comedian Matt Falk.
Awards were presented to acknowledge outstanding building of the year, environmental stewardship, customer service excellence, innovation, tenant improvement projects, and emerging leaders in CRE. BOMA Manitoba’s Earth, Pinnacle, and TOBY winners will also have the opportunity to enter BOMA Canada’s national awards competition, which will be held in Ottawa in September!

Foundations of Real Estate Management Course
We’re currently preparing our Foundations of Real Estate Management course, scheduled for Fall 2026. If you’re interested in joining, please contact Kelly Smith to be added to the pre-registration list.

This six-day (30-hour) program is perfect for those new to commercial real estate or looking to build a stronger foundation. It covers core topics like building systems, maintenance, and financials, and includes behind-the-scenes tours of local buildings. Participants will receive a course manual, a certificate, and eligibility to start their BOMI designation.

BOMA Staffing Update: Farewell and best wishes to Tanna Melendez
BOMA extends warm wishes to our outgoing Office Administrator Tanna Melendez, who has accepted a full-time position as Advancement and Operations Coordinator with Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute (MBCI).
Tanna has been with BOMA since January, 2020 and she’s provided exceptional support to our office over the last 5+ years in addition communicating with our members, handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, supporting BOMA events, and coordinating last year’s Building Conference (among many other things!). She will certainly be missed. Tanna’s last (official) day at BOMA is Friday, June 26th.
