Reminder: Register Today for The Building Conference!
Registration is now open for The Building Conference, scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th.
This full day event is dedicated entirely to designing, building, and managing commercial and institutional buildings. The conference combines education sessions, panel discussions, a keynote luncheon AND exhibitor showcase that will highlight the latest technologies and building products for the building industry.
The keynote luncheon also serves as the October BOMA member luncheon and is included with BOMA membership. Full day registration is offered at a discounted rate for BOMA members.
Now in its 12th year, The Building Conference is an annual partnership of the Winnipeg Construction Association (WCA) and BOMA.

Last chance to register: Foundations of Real Estate Management – Fall 2026
There are a few spots remaining for our Q4 Foundations of Real Estate Management course, which begins on Thursday, October 8th. If you would like to sign up, please contact BOMA Executive Director Tom Thiessen.
Held over six sessions throughout October to December, this 30-hour program is perfect for those who are new to commercial real estate OR simply looking to build a stronger CRE foundation. It covers core topics like building systems, operations & maintenance, asset management, leasing and financials, and also includes behind-the-scenes tours of local buildings.
Participants receive a course manual, a certificate, and credit towards a BOMI designation.

St. James Business Centre (QuadReal) wins National Award at BOMEX 2026!
Congratulations to QuadReal Property Management’s Winnipeg team on winning The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) – Industrial category for St. James Business Centre!
The national TOBY Awards were presented at BOMA Canada’s national conference – BOMEX 2026 – in Ottawa on September 24th. QuadReal Property Manager Talar Stephan and Assistant Property Manager Kennedy Koop (both pictured above) received the award from BOMA Canada Chair Neil Lacheur.
BOMA’s TOBY Awards recognize excellence in building management, operations, sustainability, and tenant relations. Canada’s national award winners also have the opportunity to compete for BOMA International’s TOBY Awards, which will be presented in Nashville, TN in June 2027.

BOMA Manitoba produces several publications throughout the year, with the aim to educate, inform, and advance the CRE industry. These include our Commercial Building Directory (annual) and issues of BOMA INSIDER Magazine (quarterly).
Our office also produces industry-specific reports and resources including the BOMA Preventive Maintenance Guidebook and the BOMA Industry Compensation Survey (bi-annual).
In addition to regular mailings to members, all of these publications are available to view in flipbook format on our website. If you would like additional copies of any print publication, please contact our office. (Note that the annual BOMA Member Handbook is a members-only publication, distributed to members each spring, and is only available in print).
