The Building Conference – Save the Date!

This full day event at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre, is dedicated entirely to designing, building, and managing commercial and institutional buildings. The conference combines a tradeshow/product expo, educational seminars, panel discussions and a keynote luncheon.

Our exhibitor showcase will once again highlight the latest technologies and building products for the building industry.

Now in its 11th year, The Building Conference is an annual joint effort of the Winnipeg Construction Association (WCA) and BOMA.

Education

Foundations of Real Estate Management Course

In partnership with BOMA International, we are pleased to once again offer the Foundations of Real Estate Management course, beginning October 2nd.

The 6-day (30 hour) classroom course – held every second Thursday starting in October – covers the fundamentals of CRE administration, management, building systems, accounting and reporting, contract management and more. Sessions combine in-person learning with behind-the-scenes tours of outstanding local buildings.

In addition, students who have completed the Foundations course are eligible to have their enrolment fee waived for a future BOMI certificate course (PAC, PMFP, FMC, BEC and SMC)

Dates: 6 Thursday sessions (every second week, beginning October 2)
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Special Announcements

New Funding Initiative for audits, technical studies, recommissioning, BOMA BEST certifications and more!

As part of the BOMA Enspire program, funding is now available for building audits, technical studies, recommissioning, monitoring systems, green building certifications and support for major retrofit enablement for eligible Class B & C buildings across Canada.

Participants can receive up to 80% of eligible costs, with a combined project cap of up to $125,000 per building (depending on building size) across different activities.

BOMA Enspire is a national retrofit support program that connects building owners and operators across Canada with experts to identify upgrade opportunities and guide their retrofit journeys.

Enrolment is free and participants have access to practical funding opportunities, resources, expert advice, and education sessions to support enhanced energy performance and seamless project development.  Visit the BOMA Enspire website to register or to find out more.

The BOMA Manitoba Preventive Maintenance (PM) Guidebook is a member-driven resource that outlines maintenance schedules for key building systems, and practical checklists designed to help property managers, owners, and building operators extend the life of their assets and reduce costly repairs. Developed in collaboration with our industry expert member firms, the guide also factors in Manitoba-specific considerations to support effective building maintenance.
