Five Reasons Why You Should Be A BOMA Member

1. Build your professional network

BOMA member events provide terrific networking opportunities, and the BOMA network provides you with direct access to the most prominent members of the commercial real estate sector.

BOMA will generally host 10 member luncheons throughout the year, featuring presentations by top industry professionals, business and political leaders.  Luncheon presentations highlight new commercial and institutional projects, industry trends, downtown revitalization efforts, and proposed government legislation affecting commercial real estate.

In addition to BOMA luncheons, member events include the annual Manitoba Building Expo, BOMA Poker Tournament, BOMA Spring Golf Day, BOMA Golf Classic, BOMA Summer Mixer, and numerous building tours and social events.

With a host of events and more than 300 Principal and Allied member representatives, BOMA provides many opportunities to its members to build and grow relationships with key decision makers in the industry.

I treasure the connections I have made, having gained invaluable support from fellow members. Being part of BOMA has provided me with opportunities for growth and development that have tremendously impacted my career.
– Monica Carriere, Business Development Manager, Pinnacle Staffing Solutions

2. Support and encourage advocacy on behalf of the CRE Industry

BOMA’s mission is to actively represent our members on matters that impact the ownership and management of commercial properties. BOMA’s advocacy efforts at the municipal, provincial, and federal government levels underline the importance of commercial real estate to the economy.

With the combined efforts of local BOMA associations, BOMA Canada, and BOMA International, we continue to maintain our position as the strong and credible voice for commercial real estate.

Over the years I’ve met a lot of great people, and learned so much of the industry from others that I use in my job every day.

BOMA strives to maintain high standards of professionalism in the industry; and encourages continuing education among its membership.

In addition to our monthly BOMA Industry Breakfasts, BOMA also delivers the Building Operator Certification course, in partnership with the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET).
